Soapbox Tuesday SERIES – Advanced Soapmaking Classes – Summer 2019


Learn everything beyond basic crafting of soapmaking in this 8 week in-person class series, purchasing network AND resource group.  Apothecary Muse will host a hands-on class combining science and art for the local artisan in a fully-equipped, professional soapmaking facility by an award-winning, certified maker and teacher!  Students will use all natural materials, learn safe handling practices and more advanced design techniques.

Aromatherapy, herbal infusion basics, natural colorants, pH and fatty acid profiles, Good Manufacturing Practices and cosmetic labeling will each have a session in this 8 week series.   All materials and equipment are included in the fees for this class, students will take home a small batch of the project they made with instructions for any additional finishing process at home.  Different techniques and blending processes will be covered in each class, so it is advised not to miss any of them.  There may also be an optional test at the end for those wishing to continue their soapmaking education beyond the classroom.

Registration in a Soapbox Tuesday – Basics Class is a prerequisite to enrolling in this extended series, and must be complete prior to the beginning of this 8 week session.

Class cancellation policy: Please arrive on time and/or communicate early – soap is a multi-layered process requiring advance preparation and attention to detail for everyone’s safety.  If you notify us more than 24 hours in advance that you are unable to attend a reservation you booked, you will receive a refund or be permitted to reschedule.  If you cancel a reservation within 12 hours of the start time or arrive more than 15 minutes late, you will not receive a refund/reschedule as the preparation materials will have been consumed.  It is recommended that you arrive a few minutes early to prepare your clothing and read the code of conduct.

Student Preparation: You should come prepared with long sleeves, pants and closed toe shoes; long hair should be tied back.  Please notify the instruction prior to the setup window noted above if there are any allergies or sensitivities.  Exposure will be mitigated as best possible; however, cross contamination can not be guaranteed especially in the classroom setting.
